PROJECTS OF SIGNIFICANCE
GRS products have for the past 50 years contributed to the looks of a variety of large and interesting
construction projects. The Coca Cola Dome in Midrand, the Vellodrome in Belville, Cape Town; The River boat
at Lakeside Mall and the unusual British Airways Flight Simulator next to OR Tambo International Airport, spring to
mind. Many major new malls and entertainment venues in the country also adorn a GRS roof, such as Irene Village Mall,
off the R21; Greenstone Mall in Bedfordview; Woodlands Boulevard in Pretoria; Traderoutes Mall in Lenasia, as well as
the brand new Silverstar Casino and the Suncoast Casino in Kzn.
Multi-nationals like Nestle, Parmalat, Bridgestone and Unilever (90 metre long single sheets) also chose GRS to
cover their expansive local operations and warehouses. But apart from providing cover to commercial institutions in South Africa,
residential developers of both upper end and lower cost projects specify GRS roofs.
GRS is also integrally part of the current infrastructure drive by providing cover for many of the airport extensions and the
new King Shaka Airport in Kwazulu Natal, the new Gautrain buildings and football stadiums for the 2010 World cup. GRS has over the
years become part of the very fabric of the SA construction scene. For a selection of some of these projects and details of the material
supplied, and the proffesionals involved please visit our portfolio below.
